Avenged Sevenfold just posted this message from M. Shadows:
“Whats up guys?
We just started the tour with Maiden and I hear a lot of you guys are getting really worked up about the shows. Lets start with Norway, it was our first time there and we were blown away by the support we received. We can’t wait to come back on this tour with Maiden in a few weeks and see you all again. As for Italy, it was our first time opening up directly for Maiden. Now just so you’re clear, when we took this tour we knew it was going to be hard and we knew that Iron Maiden fans were very dedicated people. So when we heard a “Sevenfold” chant before we hit the stage we knew it would cause a stir with the crowd, but it made us proud and really got us excited about our fans over in Italy. We heard horror stories about opening for “Maiden.” Everything from standing backwards on stage so that the trash coming from the audience didn’t hit you in the face to having bottles filled with piss thrown at your head. So after the show we felt pretty good about everything since we got to play for a lot of people and we got to see how many great fans we had there representing. So when you go to these shows don’t get upset if people don’t understand just yet what Avenged Sevenfold is all about. We are not a straight up metal band that is catering to their audience, we do our own thing and thats why we have so many dedicated fans. We did this same thing 2 years ago with Metallica, the difference then was that we had 40k kids a night with their arms crossed and not many fans. Now we are feeling the love from you guys and the one thing this tour is proving to us is that we need to come back and headline for you all after this is over. So the point is we are having a great time at the shows, and you should too. Don’t get all upset about a couple bottles being thrown, next year half those kids may have A7X on their IPOD and we could be their new favorite band. Like I said, we knew what we were signing up for and we are glad so many of you are supporting us through this tour. You are some passionate motherfuckers! See ya’ll soon!M.Shadows”
You would think as music lovers everyone would come together to open their ears to new sound and embrace bands from other countries. That didnt seem to be the incident that happened in Bologna, Italy at the Gods Of Metal Festival where Avenged Sevenfold kicked off their European tour with Iron Maiden.
According to fans who attended the show as Avenged Sevenfold came on to perform they were screamed at while bottles and various other objects were thrown on stage. However, the band made all their fans in the crowd proud by ignoring it and playing a kick ass show. They also took the time out to meet with fans after their set.
Anyone else go to the show? We’re all aware that Europe isnt very A7X friendly, so let’s hope the entire tour isnt like this.
Thrash Hits recently conducted an interview with everyones favorite bassist Johnny Christ. You can read it by heading here.
“Confidence,” is Christ’s explanation. “People might take our confidence in the wrong way, and think we’re a bunch of pompous asses. But we’re just confident in what we’ve worked our whole lives to do.”

“Maiden are by far the best live band in the world and their music is timeless,” says vocalist M Shadows. “This also gives us a chance to expose this great song to some of our younger fans who maybe aren’t as familiar with Iron Maiden.”

Here’s a little taste…
“What’s more sweet than one guitarist playing at the front of the stage, one foot up on the speaker monitor? Two guitarists, one right-handed, the other left-handed, each with a leg up on a monitor, mirrored in perfect, hard rock harmony.
It’s kind of a beautiful thing.”

Vengeance University updated their blog today. Apparently, it’s a clothing company.. who would have guessed?
“Vengeance University is a CLOTHING COMPANY. Not a band, not a person but a legit clothing line hustling hard to stay in the game. Judging by the comments and messages we receive here daily, hourly and by the second, many of you have forgotten that. This is NOT your new favorite bands myspace nor any one mans PERSONAL profile. This is for the style Vengeance University bring and the believers in that style. all other inquiries, comments, questions not pertaining to Vengeance University will go into the abyss.
for the rest of you… new campaign getting made as we speak
VU”
What do you think about this serious business?
We werent really going to post about this but considering the price tag on this we figured if anything it’d give a good laugh. Jason Berry won a bet with M Shadows that he wouldnt grow his hair out for three years. He did it, M Shadows shaved it, and now it’s up for auction.
I think the band is getting the last laugh now, and not on Jasons expense.
