I don’t like the part when it transitions from intro to verse (the part where he’s just like ‘NIGHTMARE!!!’ seems kinda cheesy) and the transition to the solo, well, there wasn’t really a transition, it just kinda cut to the next part lol. Anyways, good song, but not their greatest by far. After all the hype I have to say I’m a little disappointed… :(

Not saying it’s a bad song, just saying it hasn’t quite lived up to all the hype they made about it. I hope the rest of the cd is as good as they say it’s supposed to be.

i agree with a couple people in that the verse is lacking something. the vocals seem almost bland in the verse and the guitar riff is cliche, but the chorus and bridge and what’s after is great.

Love the song. I hate Metallica so I don’t notice the similarities. I don’t like comparing things I love, A7X, to things I hate, Metallica.. either way. Love this shit. awesome as always. I enjoy the fact that A7X changes their sound each album instead of sounding the same all the friggin time.

Hey guys I just noticed, the 30 second preview iTunes gives for the song is exactly the same as the second preview for nightmare that got leaked by accident. So I guess that explains where that came from.

It’s definitely different from their other stuff, but as soon as I listened to it I was like “This is Avenged Sevenfold”. Traditional length, dueling solos, M. Shadows is just awesome. Great new sound direction, a lot more emphasis on rhythm. Can’t wait to hear more drum-oriented songs and some Rev background vocals.
