i cant wait to find out what their setlist is, too bad for mike he has to learn almost easy, unholy confessions, bat country, ect..

Comment by deen

i bet already knows it.. hes a pro.

Comment by WARNERVE6661

they probably are gonna play nightmare in it’s entirity. The point is to show the world their new album, and more importantly Jimmy’s work on it.

Comment by Anonymous

they have to play the old shit thatd suck if they didnt

Comment by Chris

I think they’ll play a few of the new album songs, but they’ll play some old popular ones too, I’m sure. Nightmare is already insanely popular, they aren’t a up and coming band who needs to showcase their latest work.

Comment by JC

Forgot to add, my question is will they play any songs that previously included the revs vocals?

Comment by JC

No, i don´t think so.

Comment by RuiA7X

Good. I think he needs to learn from WTF style playing up to S/T style playing for unholy confessions all the way up to like almost easy and stuff

Comment by Hef

I doubt they’ll be playing much from their previous albums.

Comment by Alex

They said they would be.

Comment by Alyssa

im just gonna put the songs ill think they will play
Unholy Confessions
Bat Country
Beast and the Harlot
Afterlife
Almost Easy
Nightmare
Welcome to the Family
Dangerline
Buried Alive
Natural Born Killer
So Far Away
God Hates Us
Tonight the World Dies
13 songs but idk
(they said the wouldnt play fiction cause u cant really play it live, and Save me, and Victim seem a bit to long for a live show)
But 13 songs seems to long for a live show maybe 11

Comment by jonathan

Actually, I don’t think they’ll be playing Afterlife, as Jimmy sang a part of the lyrics.

Comment by Dafna

Dude.. Mike Portnoy is used to playing crazy weird time signatures and 20 minute-long songs with Dream Theater, A7X songs are not even a challenge to him. No disrespect to the Rev’s drumming, but Portnoy plays some of the hardest stuff out there.

Comment by Sam

no i didnt mean he couldnt i just ment they havent ever played big long huge songs for a show i dont see them starting now

Comment by jonathan

:D cant wait

Rehearsals for what?

Comment by Rdog

…………To play the concerts………

Comment by stinkdog2007

Nevermind. It was obvious.

Comment by Rdog

Rdog: Are You Fucking Joking!!??their summer tour??

Comment by DEATHBAT_714

Are YOU joking? I said nevermind. The reason I asked was because I got the words “rehearsal” and “audition” confused.

Comment by Rdog

He has to learn to play songs off of their older albums too. They aren’t just gonna play songs off of Nightmare during their tour

Comment by Hef

Touring…live shows…etc. You know, the kind of stuff a drummer does with a band lol. ;)

Comment by Drew

Perhaps for the hundreads of gigs they’re gonna play

Comment by JIK

…the tour.

Comment by Cassie

The tour.

Comment by Jon

Fail.

Comment by Seth

Comment by Morgan

*live

Comment by Morgan (aka...)

Holy Shit!!! it came by sooooooooooo fast!!! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by Noel

Strength Of The World is a really underrated song they should definitely play it live this tour

Comment by Ron

that was the song a friend played for me and I was hooked

Comment by Morgan

I agree. The first heavy riff is amazing, and when the strings come in at the end, I get chills every time.

Comment by Sam

agreed. that song is so amazing

Comment by Hayden

Yup, love that song! And M.I.A., both are equally excellent in my books (:

Comment by James

What’s the address? I wanna go too!

Comment by javi

ill drive!!

Comment by adam

shotgun:)

Comment by BC

hell yeah! Then it’s settled! Let’s see if they’ll let us do simple shit like make sure the water bottles and beer are cold!

Comment by javi

I have a quick question
Do any of you guys know if a7x is going to sign autographs?

Comment by stacey

We can hope.

Comment by A7XForTheWicked

indeed.i hope they do it would be pretty sweet :D

Comment by amy

Good to hear. :D ‘Can’t believe they go on stage in a few days.

Comment by Cassie

Mike Portnoy needs rehearsal?

Comment by Moshiz

thats like saying chuck norris needs ass kicking lessons

Comment by zachrabit

chuck norris wears mike portnoy pajamas!

Comment by adam

CAPTAIN BLUEBIERD!

Comment by Luke

Yes. They will not only play stuff from Nightmare, I guess..

Comment by Danniel

they will not be playing songs from the other albums i highly highly doubt my friends…. they will play most likely almost all the new songs save maybe two or three but i personally wish they would play afterlife in jimmys memory

Comment by j-russ

They have actually said in the interviews that they’re gonna play lots of old stuff

Comment by JIK

Someone asked them in an interview if they were going to play songs from previous albums and I believe Matt’s exact response was “oh hell yeah!” I don’t know why people think they are going to play nothing but the new album…

Comment by Bob

I hope they do I won’t see you tonight, it seems fitting.

Comment by Anonymous

what interview is this from can you please tell me thanks alot

Comment by stacey

He said “Oh, absolutely! We’re gonna play tons of old stuff!” So I think we can count on old stuff lol ;)

Comment by Drew

yeah I remember that interview too… but hey, I won’t be disappointed if they don’t, even though this will be the first concert of theirs that i have had the chance to go to, I am happy to just to be able to see them live

Comment by Morgan (aka...)

I can’t wait to see Avenged Sunday. The 15 hour drive from West Virginia is completly worth it!

Comment by Corey

hey dbn…do you help out other fan sites or no? cause another one pretty much copies what you do on a regular basis. just wondering if you know them or if they are just ripping you off.

Comment by adam

No sir I do not help out with any other sites. The only one I run is this one.

Comment by deathbatnews

well they pretty much just wait to see what you do and change the words a tad. unoriginal bastards!

Comment by adam

Wow, well that’s a bummer.

Comment by deathbatnews

its just bc DBN does such a great job they cant to better than her:)

Comment by BC

f’in a right

Comment by adam

For the people who say that a7x is only going to be playing their songs off “Nightmare”..Thats totally wrong. A7X knows what theyre fans want (not saying this album won’t kick ass because it will ) and we fans want to hear old stuff such as unholy confessions, second heartbeat, beast and the harlot, afterlife, etc. They will probably play two songs off nightmare, three tops. I’m still not sure whether they are going to open up with nightmare or critcal acclaim but ive been thinking about it and its probably gonna be nightmare.
Possible Setlist:(Similar to LBC)
1 – Nightmare
2 – Second Heartbeat
3 – Afterlife
4 – Bat Country
5 – Beast and the Harlot
6 – Scream
7 – Seize the day or Ballad from new album
8 – Almost Easy
9 – Critical Acclaim
10 – Gunslinger (possibly Danger Line)
11 – Unholy Confessions
12 – A Little Piece of Heaven (Wont be an encore because disturbed is the last band, still pissed about that )
This is just a guess. Most likely wrong lol

Comment by walnuts

Highly doubt that. Thats seriously like a replica of the LBC set. They will play more than just 3 off of Nightmare.

Comment by D3

they will play a lot of nightmare that I promise and they probably won’t play any songs that jimmy sang on, hence a little piece of heaven or critical acclaim. They probably will play i won’t see you tonight as well.

Comment by Anonymous

bull shit
theyre not gonna play second heartbeat again i guarantee it
and theyre not gonna play a little piece of heaven the revs not gonna sing it

Comment by Chris

Im going to the concert july 30th in CT. They wont play alot of Nightmare because then the concert wouldnt be that great. Would you rather hear Seize the day or So far away? I mean come on… Seize the day is the one of the best metal ballads of all time, you can not top seize the day

Comment by walnuts

In an interview matt said they are gonna play “lots of old stuff”..you know what that means?…Less of the new stuff (Nightmare)

Comment by walnuts

They actually might not play second heartbeat, last year Second Heartbeat was replaced in the set by Chapter Four and Eternal Rest.

Comment by Anonymous

Afterlife is one of their top selling singles..they will play that 90% chance.

Comment by walnuts

lol yeah man keep dreaming. Your probably gonna hear possibly bat country, dear god, beast and the harlot, unholy confessions, afterlife, gunslinger, sieze the day, or almost easy……besides any of those your mainly gonna hear the nightmare album. Every band does it.

Comment by Terrance Phifer

even if they were to play critical acclaim, it probably wouldn’t go in the middle.

they probs won’t play seize the day again either since they replaced it with dear god in the last leg of their last tour

Comment by steve

not to come off as an asshole, but….way wrong. the only way they would play critical acclaim is if they played it after a slow song, and the went into the keyboard.and they will play more songs off of nightmare than any other album.they’re not touring greatest hits, they’re touring “Nightmare”

and the only reason you put dangerline with gunslinger is because the songs about soldiers. the songs could be totally differnt.

ps. they most likely will play an encore

Comment by Anonymous

Its funny how you think you know everything. I put out a setlist that i think they are gonna play and you jump on my back like youve had a conversation with shadows himself. lmao go home

Comment by walnuts

-Nightmare (Yes)
-Second Heartbeat (Possibly)
-Afterlife (Yes)
-Bat Country (Yes)
-Beast and the Harlot (Yes)
-Scream (No)
-Ballad (Yes)
-Almost Easy (Yes)
-Critical Acclaim (No, Jimmy sings the chorus)
-Gunslinger (No) Danger Line (Possible)
-Unholy Confessions (No) Should be God Hates us
-A Little Piece of Heaven ( No, because Jimmy sings)
But your setlist needs a few more songs from the new album.

Comment by Phil A7X

did people forget he sings in afterlife?

Comment by adam

I didn’t forget, but it’s one of their more popular songs. I think they’ll play it, and just a backing track with Jimmy’s voice on it

Comment by Phil A7X

badass
i cant wait to see them live!!
ahhh
XD

Comment by emilya7x

late much??? can Mike handle learning old songs now?!…….Of course he can, he’s Mike Portnoy :D

Comment by amanda

hey dbn do you know how many songs avenged will play

Comment by stacey

No I do not.

Comment by deathbatnews

hey dbn thanks for replying
your the best

Comment by stacey

hey dbn, we’re you able to find out who does the whispering in one of their songs?

Comment by Anonymous

PLAY SIDEWINDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

PPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE THAT SONG!!!

Comment by Chris

HELLYEAH! SIDEWINDER WOULD BE EPIC!!

Comment by MARCO V

Definitely, very underrated. But i don’t think they’re able to because of the changes in instruments. From Electric Guitars to acoustic. Plus they need a second person to play the other half of the Guitar duel.

Comment by Phil A7X

I’m sure mikes practiced and learned avenged songs during his free time, while on tour with dream theater. like before shows. Also i think they’ll play old and new, but prolly 5-6 songs off nightmare. The big question is what r they gunna do at the shows to honor jimmy?!?!?!?

Comment by Kevin

Portnoy is playing with 3 different bands in 3 different countries in 6 days..A7X being one of them..can we say Superman?

Comment by geof

i would love to hear some of the city of evil songs that they haven’t played since that tour. just one of these would be fine:
Burn it Down
Trashed and Scattered
Strength of the World
MIA

Comment by steve

It would be kinda cool if they played something from Diamonds in the Rough! Doubt they will though.

Comment by Jones

It would be so cool if when they played so far away if papa gates game out and played with his son, whatever happens these upcoming shows will be great.

Comment by carl

I think a7x should just take 2 time slots in place for Disturbed! Now wouldn’t that be epic?

Comment by Luke

I would be content with them playing the whole new album and a few old songs. Personally, I’ve seen Bat Country, Beast, Afterlife a zillion times… but for the people who’ve never seen them, I can understand them wanting to hear older stuff.

Comment by Tommy

i cant wait !!
i wish thet play gunslinger !

Comment by HOLLY
