so fuckin awesome i wish i was there

Comment by Anonymous

Oh my Johnny fucking Christ. They’re playing So Far Away. My favorite song. Now I know I will burst into fucking tears for sure.

Comment by Karina

holy crap. they’re playing god hates us?!?!?! lucky ducks. i wonder how matt sounds live now with his new screaming technique and stuff….. probably awesome.

Comment by Bre

amazing!!!!!

Comment by CrissVengeance

wheres afterlife…?

Comment by a7xrockr4ever

That has a pretty big ‘Jimmy’ part in it. Im actually surprised they’re playing critical acclaim what with him singing the chorus.

Comment by Sarah

good point!!!

Comment by WARNERVE6661

I completely agree about critical acclaim here gets me excited for the show that Im going to though

Comment by Ghostflame83

YES!!! thank you!! would have like Afterlife too..but this is great!

Comment by amanda

Is there any possibility that will be the Uproar setlist?

Comment by Jamie

Chances are they will add a song or two for Uproar. This isn’t exactly a headlining event for them and they are coheadlining Uproar. I’d say expect more

Comment by Brandon

i hope…. dude if i don’t hear afterlife… idk what ill do i legit might cry everything else i love it

Comment by SynysterG6661

fuckin awesome too bad im not there

Comment by vallin17foREVer

wow. im suprised about critical acclaim being played second. and no afterlife?

Comment by ty

So fucking excited to hear God Hates Us. Here’s hoping they keep it when they come to the UK

Comment by Kat

I’m also surprised they’ve kept Critical Acclaim, given that Jimmy sings parts of it, so that’ll be interesting to hear

Comment by Kat

Oh geez i didn’t think of that!! who do you think sang his part?!? Omg i’d love to hear Mike sing haha!

Comment by amanda

God Hates Us was AMAZING, Matt sounded SOOOO GOOD!!!! The scream gave me chills…

Comment by Ashley

I have to see the video of God Hates Us!

Comment by josh

Who’s going to sing The Rev’s part in Critical Acclaim?

Comment by Synester00

The crowd could do it.

Comment by Ryan McFly

Zacky maybe? with syn?

Comment by Drunoctis

They will probably have playback of Jimmy’s voice where he normally sings and play it when the time comes for the part to be sung

Comment by Hef

exactly what i was thinking i think they are experimenting before the uproar tour see how the songs sound this concert. but it would be nice to hear a part of jimmy at their show becuase i dont think mike can sing as well as the rev but who knows? : !

Comment by josh

HAH! I figured they would open with Nightmare (: I hope it went well. :)

Comment by Emily

that set isnt their best i would rather them play a little piece of heaven instead of almost easy and put to end the rapture somewhere in there

Comment by Anonymous

To End The Rapture is rarely played live nowadays and A Little Piece of Heaven is not a good pick because it was written by The Rev and the name relates to his death in a way.

Comment by Synester00

And the Rev sings like half of the vocals

Comment by Drew

woww mann. we shouldn’t even be complaining about the setlist mann. itss pretty brave just to go out there at all and tourr. this is veryy hard for themm soo we should just be happy they even went outt andd playedd mann! Cutt themm somee slackk, theyy didd goodd! Well from what i can tell with the setlistt.

Comment by Anonymous

I was in no way complaining about this set list. I think it’s awesome. I was telling the guy above to stop complaining and wishing for aLPoH, cuz it’s not gonna happen.

Comment by Drew

i wish they would play To End the Rapture more.. i mean come on it’s like a minute and a half you could easily fit it into any show.. and its (in my opinion) one of the most epic songs ever

Comment by David

cool! hopefully they play natural born killer when they come to dc in august.

Comment by Calalo

who sang the chorus on Critical Acclaim?

Comment by josh

Maybe Zacky with syn, they have nice voices.

Comment by Drunoctis

was expecting more nightmare but i suppose they have hd a lot less time to rehearse that stuff

Comment by james

yeah thats what i was thinking, because portnoy knows all the nightmare stuff

Comment by gilbert

Love it! Half old, half new. Wonder if the Uproar setlist will be the same or different. Can’t wait to see vids!

Comment by Paige

I’m getting FUCKING angry cause they wont come to Greece…i want to hear them live…Victim should be in the list :)

Comment by Drunoctis

this is pure BEAST!! every song is sick oh man good list!

Comment by Nick

i wonder how critical acclaim went…without jimmy singing the chorus…:/

Comment by Justin

Thats a good setlist thanks!

Comment by Anonymous

Was Almost Easy the encore or there was no encore?

Comment by PM7X

man i dont mean to complain sooo fast, but later in the tour after they get used to their situation, they should play more songs like scream, dear god, and SECOND HEARTBEAT!!…, maybe they will later in the tour /\/\foREVer/\/\

Comment by noel

during the uproar tour its probably gonna be more songs and different choices just saying

Comment by gilbert

Did they play Jimmy’s vocals on Critical Acclaim???

Comment by PM7X

Maybe Zacky with Syn will do these …will be awesome.

Comment by Drunoctis

they may have a recorded track of jimmy singing it

Comment by zachrabit

That would be correct…

Comment by Ashley

Would have loved to see Afterlife and Seize the Day up there, but that’s still pretty awesome.

Comment by Kiston.

I have so much respect for them still being able to play Critical Acclaim without Jimmy. That’s gotta be tough. <3333

Comment by Leese

Awesome set list

Comment by sharri

and also afterlife and YES SOUNDING THE SEVENTH TRUMPET SONGS!! they should involve all their songs from ALL their albums

Comment by noel

That’s kind of a crappy setlist. :/

Comment by Anonymous

I have to actually agree with you slightly..maybe some of it will change for Uproar. They weren’t headlining this, so yeah, it isn’t going to be the best setlist.

Comment by Anonymous

Really surprised to see Critical Acclaim on there…but other than that, about what I was expecting. I knew they would cut back on the S/T songs, after they played so freagin’ many of them the last 4 tours.

Happy to see God Hates Us and Buried Alive on there though, as they are probably my favorites off the new album (as much of it as I’ve heard).

Comment by Drew

I hope someone puts out a video of this. I want to see their 1st show back. I bet Shadz tears up during So Far Away. Such a good, but sad song. DBN please find a video for this show!! :)

Comment by Daniel P

i want to hear victim and danger line live

Comment by gilbert

omg!
i was i was there!
its an awesome set list!!

Comment by emilyA7X

How did they do the Rev’s vocals?

Comment by Anonymous

the need to drop critical acclaim and put up afterlife

Comment by zachrabit

Hey DBN, if and when you get a setlist for uproar, could you not have it posted right on the homepage? ( maybe just a “click here” for the setlist) I for one dont wanna know the setlist i want it to be a suprise. And not checking this site daily isnt an option :)

Comment by Anonymous

If it’s a lot different then this one I’ll try.

Comment by deathbatnews

Oh, Just fyi I found out I will indeed be at that first Uproar show in MN, so I’ll email you the setlist asap after the show

Comment by Drew

Awesome Drew. I appreciate it!

Comment by deathbatnews

Yep, happy to help out! After all you do for us, it’s the least I can do for you.

Comment by Drew

i’m planning on going to minneapolis for uproar as well!

Comment by garett

me too

Comment by malicious grimm

Victim and Danger Line should be there :|

Comment by Drunoctis

if they added second heartbeat, afterlife, and save me then this would be perfect.

also, why the eff is almost easy last? unholy confessions should’ve been last…

Comment by synystersam

omelord they’re playin buried alive man i wish i was going to see it

Comment by foREVer

Gunslinger ? Afterlife ? I won’t see you tonight ? They NEED more time on stage you douches !

Comment by Anonymous

They might not want more time…it’s their first show back seriously…-_-

Comment by Marlz

i want to see the videos of these

Comment by Anonymous

DBN, In what countries is Nightmare available already?

Comment by loghen

Who sang Critical Acclaim’s chorus? D:

Comment by chiel

ahh instead of almost easy they should have put fiction or a little peice of heaven as their final song!

Comment by Dude

I doubt they will EVER play Fiction. 1) Because Jimmy sings the chorus (even though he does on Critical Acclaim as well) 2) If that song was hard to record for the band, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to play LIVE.

Comment by Paige

i think they might do it. while it will be incredibly hard they aren’t touring so much for the album as they are touring to get Jimmy’s music out there. And Fiction was the rev’s masterpiece it would almost be a crime to him not to play it live. although i completely agree it would be hard as hell for them.

Comment by David

Fiction would be too hard to do…? Matt says a lot of it is just Jimmy’s vocals and no guitars…

Comment by Marlz

They probably won’t do Fiction live.

Comment by Anonymous

Fiction will probably never be played live. Jimmy sang a lot of that song

Comment by Hef

NO BAT COUNTRY. WTF. For Uproar the should drop Critical Acclaim ( it’s just not the same without Jimmy..), and Almost easy, add Bat Country in replace for Critical Acclaim, Move Unholy Confessions to the last spot, change Almost Easy to Afterlife and add Chapter Four, and Second Heartbeat.

Comment by Dylan

What is it with the complaining…we should be grateful they’re even touring at all…

Comment by Marlz

i agree, since it’s they’re first time on stage without jimmy they should take it slow

Comment by Jon

if i was to use this as a template for their uproar setlist, i would add bat country, danger line, and/or afterlife and i really hope they keep most of these for uproar

Comment by deen

I really wanna hear Save Me live, that would kick ass..

Comment by Anonymous

People complaining about the setlist: Be happy they’re playing AT ALL. It doesn’t matter what they play, they’re gonna be awesome playing whatever they will. And you don’t choose what they play, they do.

Comment by Paige

only one song off city of evil?!?!?! haha. yeah they do need more time. atleast 14 songs a show from now on!!!! they have so many

Comment by kevin

replace critical acclaim with bat country and replace almost easy with second heartbeat and make unholy confessions last and you’ve got a pretty sick set list…

Comment by wikaman

Not tryin to complain, but replace Almost Easy xD
Also, someone find Unholy Confessions if someone recorded it from this show!
i wanna hear matts new vocals for that ;]

Comment by Jeremy

victim!!!! thats where its at

Comment by kevin

natural born kille? :(

Comment by william

Yeah, I thought they would have played that one..maybe one the Uproar tour they will!

Comment by Anonymous

Probably, not many people do know the new CD yet.

Comment by Anonymous

ida thought critical acclaim was set to retire

Comment by cjd

I swear the boys are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. SHUT UP ABOUT THE SET LIST. They are trying to tour without Jimmy. It’s hard enough to face that thought alone, without hearing complaining about the songs. Just be happy they are touring again. If you have their back, shut it and be thankful they are touring. I’ll be at their concert in a few weeks. I don’t care what they play as long as they PLAY. Eventually this tour will be done and they are going to decide to continue making music or quit all together. You may not get a chance to hear any songs at all if they decide to quit all together. Great job tonight boys!

Comment by Nikki

AMEN! :D

Comment by Bre

They’re NOT playing bat country??? Now that’s a first!

Comment by Jon

Lol I’m with ya here. I’m really happy to see them playing a set that’s NOT filled with singles. The stuff they played on the Suckcherry tour was getting pretty boring. I’m personally quite excited by this set.

Comment by Drew

i prefer to call it the papa roach tour, since papa roach is far better than buckcherry

Comment by deen

Thats an awesome setlist! I wonder how Critical Acclaim went without Jimmy :(

foREVer <3

Comment by Nikki

Don’t get me wrong I love avenged sevenfold and I loved how they made the decision to tour bu why Only 9 songs? Im going to the show on July 30th…I hope they play atleast 11 songs. They need to add Bat Country and add Afterlife…that would make the show kick-ass.

Comment by walnuts

Lol @ people saying ”replace this one with this one”…as if they were going to do it..
Be thankful they’re touring.

Comment by loghen

so does anyone know if they will be playing this on uproar???

Comment by Anonymous

Well thats an interesting setlist, but I like it! There are some firts; no Bat Country, Critical Acclaim is on there, and mainly older stuff. But you all have to keep in mind that they are not headlinig nor co-headlining on this show, so things still could for Uproar and all of the other shows.

Comment by Alyssa

“so things still could for Uproar” what?

Comment by deen

Ooops, I meant to put “so the setlist still could be different for Uproar”
Damn, what is wrong with me today…,

Comment by Alyssa

Holy shit theres a lot of spelling mistakes..geez..

Comment by Anonymous

I think it’s a great setlist, and I think they will have another song or two on tour. But it will be really interesting to hear Portnoy play Beast and the Harlot, I mean everything unique about the way Jimmy played (drum fills, double ride shit, etc…) is in that song. I’m so stoked though!

Comment by Alec R.

Great setlist, makes me excited :D
I will be at the 27th show, so I hope I can get pictures, or maybe video or something, I hope they play god hates us here as well :D

Comment by Austin

Wow! They’re not playing Bat Country! There’s a first

Comment by Devon

You forgot to add Afterlife…

Comment by earth4x

I did not forget it, the person who kindly sent it in did and I just got confirmation it was played so it has been added.

Comment by deathbatnews

thank jesus. lol

Comment by Ryan

It’s ok, I don’t blame either of you ;)

Comment by earth4x

I was there and they play Afterlife too!

Comment by AvengedAddict

I FUCKING LOVE AVENGED SEVENFOLD ! ! ! glad to see them back playing live . mike is amazing helping them out ! can’t wait for the show in glasgow scotland ! will be my highlight of the year by far

Comment by jamba_a7xforlife

So they DID play Afterlife. Awesome! Again, I wonder what they did for Jimmy’s parts… probably either set a backing track for his vocals or had Zacky & Syn/Mike(?) sing them…

Comment by Paige

i asked victoria and she said they played jimmys parts back over the sound system and had the crowd sing too.

Comment by Ryan

I see. That’s what I figured they’d do. And having the crowd sing them is great! They might do that for Uproar too… I hope they do. Thanks. :D

Comment by Paige

so how long was the set total? i wanna compare the time they got to the time they get on uproar to see if they could sing more songs

Comment by deen

I put all the songs they played in a playlist, and it came out to 47 minutes, so i assume they had a 45 minutes time slot.

Comment by Austin

In that case, since they’re co-headlining Uproar, I expect at LEAST 3 more songs from them. Maybe a couple more. Depends on what they’re playing…

Comment by Paige

I agree, since they have about an hour and ten minutes to play.

Comment by Alyssa

Now it’s complete! :D

Comment by Rianna

Does anyone know who handled Jimmy’s vocals on Critical Acclaim?

Comment by Kel

playback. i asked victoria from the wild ride doc.

Comment by Ryan

No videos of this on youtube :(

Comment by Evansa7x

Give it some time. I’m sure there will be plenty in 24 hours.

Comment by Dane H.

I winder who sang Jimmy’s part in afterlife or if they did a playback for his vocals

Comment by Hef

THAT is an amazing setlist. I hope they keep it rolling that way when I see them in Chicago.

Comment by Dave

seize the day? :[

Comment by Anonymous

It Was The Best Show Ever!! And I Will Will Remember It foREVer!!!!

Comment by Jessica

where´s bat country?! D:

Comment by Gabo

Okay for everybody upset about the setlist, and for those wanting them to add more songs, keep in mind, Portnoy doesn’t know how to play every A7X song.
I’m pretty sure that the guys came up with the setlist, and Portnoy had to learn the songs from previous albums. My guess is that for Uproar, any additional songs will be from Nightmare. Because you have to remember, they are playing with a drummer who doesn’t know all of their material.

Comment by ArcadianWarrior

Dude… its Mike Portnoy. He could learn every A7X song within a couple weeks. No offense to the Rev, he was amazing, but Mike Portnoy is hands down of the world’s greatest drummers.

Comment by Sam

so happy they played afterlife. I am also curious about how they handled all of Jimmy’s vocals…oh, and DBN I’ll be at Tuesday’s show in MA and I’ll be sure to send in the setlist and pictures for you. ;D

Comment by Angie

Playback, he’s singing in the backing track. The record tracks. :3

Comment by Moshiz

Thats a pretty fucking amazing set list!

Comment by Ghostflame83

no “scream” what the hell when they come to houston they better play that song lol……..other than them not playin scream it sounds like a killer show

Comment by steven kraatz

Nice to see this made it up!!

My iPhone died literaly like six seconds after I hit send:p

Comment by Mickey

Oh wow….they’re doing Critical Acclaim. That & LPOH are the ones that I just break down crying when I hear. I’m happy they didn’t drop it, I really didn’t know if either would ever be done again live. I just don’t even want to take a stab at how tuesday’s gong to be for me. A bitter sweet celebration that fucking kicks ass!

^0^*lIvE*foREVer*iN*SyN*^0^
~Vixyn~

Comment by Vixyn

Set list looks awesome, and should be 3-5 songs deeper at uproar… I must say though… shocked that Bat Country wasn’t there… this is not looked up or anything, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time since like 05 that they didn’t include that on a set.

Comment by Brian

I hope they include Danger Line and Victim when they tour Uproar.

Comment by Brian

They had limited time (only one hour) so they had to cut some songs that they will probably play during the tour… They still did 11 songs in one hour which is great!

Comment by crackylasaloppe

Welcome to the Familyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Comment by Tommy

People moaning that they haven’t played any of the new songs, remember the album isn’t out yet, they don’t want to give it away completely

Comment by rosscoa7x

They REALLLLLLLY need to play more City Of Evil and Waking the Fallen stuff. Songs like Blinded In Chains, MIA, Strength of the World, Desecrate Through Reverence, Remenissions, and IWSYT pt. 2 are just freakin awesome songs.

Comment by Sam Carter

no Bat Country? that’s weird

Comment by Private Donut

theyy should trash the songs “scream” and “gunslinger” because both of those are epic shit. good setlist. but i am expecting to hear i wont see u tonight in the upcoming tour. along with reminisions.

Comment by austins

Ok i hope the set list for uproar keeps all 10 of these songs and adds a coup;e more. Seriously i love each and every song on there and they are my fav band but it kills me because they always have played 11 songs at a show, and i was hoping since this will be one of their biggest tours for there best album they would add and play 12-14 songs live, but it would seem they decreased a song for this show. I hope these 10 song sets dont stick, at least keep it at 11 for uproar. I really want bat country and danger line just added to these 10 already amazing songs.

Comment by Anthony
