I Wish They Would Release the Demos The Rev Did it would be Awesome to Hear them

Comment by Hii

yea i wish they’d release the demos with jimmy on them. as soon as i heard that they existed i knew that i needed to hear them. it would mean so much, not only to me, but to everyone who loved jimmy if we could hear the last of his work

i wish A7X would release the demos….. i would pay $100 to buy them, or even more!! NO JOKE

Comment by Noel

thats weird Hii and i said like the same thing…. SO i think everyone will agree on this

Comment by Noel

I’ll be honest… I’d buy them at normal album price… not made of money though… at 100+, I am resorting to illegal download.

Comment by Brian

personally, i think they should release them slowly so we still have stuff to look forward from him =)

like one every year on his birthday or something =D

Very interesting article, Shows how true to his word he was about sticking to Jimmy’s parts. IF, and this is a big if, Mike decides to play with A7X full time, i expect the drumming to be in the same vein as God hates us and Save me, Fast aggressive and slightly progressive, overall It sounds as if he wants to play quicker, harder, faster without having to do over the top fills every two minutes. A break from everything aside from drums is what he really wants and it sounds like he’s getting it.
Good work!

I don’t see why you have expectations. we should be happy what he’s doing for us A7X fans now. I don’t care how he plays the drums as long as he’s filling in jimmys spot. Rip jimmy

He said “IF” that ever happens, then what he would like to hear. Theres nothing wrong in sharing expectations.

Comment by Loghen

If your expecting a certain thing out of portnoy such as making drum tracks with fast aggresive and slightly progressive and its not what he gives us fans the next album your going to be disappointed. There shouldn’t be expectations , we are fortunate that he filled the revs spot and he’s doing a hell of a job with it

It’s just an expectation, not that we heard a teaser of a new song and we are thinking of how it would be, he’s just saying ”If he joins A7X, I’d like him to do this and that”, and you said ”I don’t see why you have expectations” as if he was saying something bad.
Of course we are fortunate that he’s with A7X now and that the guys are promoting and touring with this album, you should tell that to the people who wants them to release the demos for the album, not to someone who’s just saying that he would like Portnoy to sound in a certain way in the future; after all, he will be the disappointed one, not you or me.

I see what your saying

Thanks for siding with me haha, not that I ever wanted to cause divisions, maybe the word expect was a little mis-used. I too am far beyond humbled that Mr Portnoy is playing drums for the band through this terrible moment. I couldnt think of anyone better to try and replicate Jimmys parts.
What i mearly mean was if Mike decides A7X is the band he would wish to purse with then he would have more free reigns as to what drums parts he plays, this album was all about Jimmy and rightly so, whereas IF he is around for a next album IF they decide to make one, I cannot the drums sounding too different to Jimmy anyway, however my viewpoint after reading this article is that he enjoys the faster songs and so….thats why i said what I said, i wont be dissapointed at all if he doesnt, Im still grateful he’s playing.
Some people read far too much into things

Comment by Michael

hopefully it will happen (:

Comment by emilyA7X

I want to hear the demos!

Comment by sfrsebastian

they should have put more of Jimmys vocals on the album

Comment by luke

I hope they release the demo tracks with the rev’s drumming in them. I wanna hear the lyrics of all the songs before they got changed

Comment by Hef

I appreciate Mike so much.

I didn’t know Mike was this true to Jimmy’s parts. This is tragic, just shows how much Jimmy’s drumming developed even more before he died, and they were only demos too, imagine what his studio effort could’ve been like!

Mike’s Great! R.I.P Jimmy. You were better! Relaese tge Demos!!! PLEASE?!?!

Comment by Jamal

I was just talking and thinking about how id love to hear the demos specially the fiction demo that would be amazing!

Comment by amy

i have a feeling that, of all demos, fiction is the least likely to be released. a7x shared a LOT with us from their mourning and i doubt that they want to have the world talking about something that would have been so emotional to have heard for the first time after his death.

that being said, i’m right there with you!
