Avenged Sevenfold have been forced to cancel their show in Munich, Germany due to unforseen illness. You can read the statement from the band below. Here’s to hoping that the illness is taken care of and a speedy recovery for those affected.
We are very sorry for the cancellation of tonights show in Munich. Due to a sudden and unforeseen illness we were forced to cancel. We were forced to make this decision as we sat backstage up until the moment before the doors were to open. We have been so proud of our fans support and have especially been looking forward to playing for our German fans. We all feel horrible and will make it up to all our fans. With sincerest apologies.

A7XUns tut es sehr leid, dass wir die heutige Show in München absagen mussten. Wir waren wegen einer plötzlichen und unvorhersehbaren Erkrankung zu dieser Entscheidung gezwungen. Es kam zu dieser Entscheidung als wir Backstage saßen, kurz bevor die Türen geöffnet werden sollten. Wir sind so stolz auf die Unterstützung unserer Fans und haben uns ganz besonders darauf gefreut für unsere Deutschen Fans zu spielen. Wir fühlen uns schrecklich und werden es wieder gut machen. Wir entschuldigen uns aufrichtig.

Me and a friend stood there waiting outside for hours…just to hear that they had to cancel the show last minute. We’re so damn sad right now. :(But i hope they get better soon.

I will be honest, I wouldn’t be pissed off, I would be more concerned for the band than I would be myself. I will be a little upset, but their health is more important than what I didn’t see.

Besides, some bands do that for the sake of, well, the tens of thousands of people who bought tickets weeks in advance to see these guys perform. For some bands (well A7X has already shown a significant amount of this since they are currently going through the Rev’s passing) “the show must go on.”

That’s just not the way it works. No one expects something like this, not even the band themselves, but it is something that happens.

I would imagine it’s Shadows. I’m due to go and see them in London on Saturday. If they have to cancel we will be so gutted, as they cancelled the last (and only other) time I was due to see the, at Reading Festival 2008.
