When I first heard the news that Avenged Sevenfold would finally be able to make it overseas to perform on their own USO tour I was beyond happy and proud knowing how much it meant to the group. I know all of you felt the same way as well. Luckily, we can all watch part of it happen now. Check out a video of Avenged Sevenfold performing “Nightmare” in Kuwait below:
Thanks to Gabby for sending this in and SteveRileo for taking the video and uploading it.

Comment by Mordecai November 26, 2010 @ 8:26 pmi didn’t see any different. wat are you talking about?
Comment by Mandy November 26, 2010 @ 8:57 pmHe’s going crazy. Probably doing that because he failed horribly at the opening scream… no offense Matt.
Comment by Mike November 26, 2010 @ 9:03 pmThe opening scream sounded like it always does….I didn’t hear anything different about it. >.>
Comment by Alyssa November 26, 2010 @ 9:06 pmI mean in Critical Acclaim.
Comment by Mike November 27, 2010 @ 6:32 amHe didn’t fail horribly…the quality of the audio isn’t too good…that’s all…
Comment by Marlz November 27, 2010 @ 1:20 amHate to argue (or insult Matt’s great voice) but the scream was only 3 seconds long and his voice cracked right at the beginning. Listen again.
Wah!!!!!
Comment by Mike November 27, 2010 @ 1:28 pmI don’t think he went crazy because during Critical Acclaim he is always jumping around and shit like that.
Comment by Jake November 28, 2010 @ 10:20 amI think that was just him getting pumped because of the awesome song.
Comment by Rdog November 27, 2010 @ 2:05 pmThats so awesome that they were able to do that for the troops. Being an army wife I know my husband and all the troops love their music. THANKS AVENEGED!
Comment by Missa November 26, 2010 @ 8:32 pmCritical Acclaim was a great song to play for the troops!!!! I can’t wait to see what the set list looks like; hopefully their most patriotic songs were played =)
Comment by LittleMissRESENTMENT November 26, 2010 @ 8:45 pmHopefully it wasn’t a normal setlist; I have a strong feeling they played Gunslinger.
Comment by Mike November 26, 2010 @ 9:03 pmThey didnt unfortunatly but it was still an amazing show!
Comment by JOSH FF November 26, 2010 @ 10:07 pmAnd I reaaaally woulda loved to see them play Strength of the World and M.I.A. for USO that would have been phenomenal!
Comment by MickeySyn November 26, 2010 @ 8:46 pmSo fucking proud and happy they finally were able to make it!
Why does everybody want them to play MIA for the troops? Read the lyrics; they’d be a bit disrespectful.
“A killer [a soldier overseas] walks your streets tonight.”
Comment by Mike November 26, 2010 @ 9:02 pmAbsolutely awesome!!!!
Comment by Alyssa November 26, 2010 @ 9:03 pmMy Dad was over there for this he sent me a facebook message telling me how fuckin great it was

Comment by LittleMissRESENTMENT November 27, 2010 @ 6:02 pmHmmm, No double bass. Still great regardless.
Comment by bLUE November 26, 2010 @ 11:04 pmI’m pretty sure he used double bass…just cuz he only had one drum set up doesn’t mean that he didn’t have two kick pedals.
Comment by Drew November 27, 2010 @ 10:08 amNo, I’m pretty sure bLUE is right; you can kind of tell during the intro and the solo of Nightmare.
Comment by Mike November 27, 2010 @ 1:31 pmBlinded in Chains!!!!!LIVE
Comment by BuriedAlive7x November 27, 2010 @ 12:13 amEven though it was the US army they were playing for, I think it’s amazing they show such great support for the troops and what they do [I say that as an Australian btw, not as anything against the US army...lol].
I think it’s great when any band or artists goes and shows their support for the army…if that makes any sense at all.
Comment by Marlz November 27, 2010 @ 1:14 amUntil I saw your comment about being Australian, I thought you were US Marine or Navy with that slight about the Army. :)
Comment by Jenn November 27, 2010 @ 1:07 pmI’m so fucking proud of them :D :D :D
Comment by toria7x November 27, 2010 @ 2:18 amSuch an awesome thing to do for deserving people, makes me proud to be a fan.

Comment by Angst November 27, 2010 @ 2:54 amSo proud of the guys =]
Awesome. So proud of the guys for doing a show for the troops out there. My older brother is out there and I hope he got to see them because that would’ve really made his year (he’s almost as big a fan as I am lol).
Thanks guys for giving the troops something they all deserve.
Comment by Kirsty November 27, 2010 @ 3:50 amThis almost makes me wanna join the Army. Particularly the “Im-standing-right-in-front-of-your-crotch shot” of Syn at the end…. lol
Comment by Bianca November 27, 2010 @ 6:39 amI think it’s so awesome of them to do this. Lots of love and respect from me :)
Whats up with the single bass? Oh well, still amazing. Thanx A7X and of course our troops.
Comment by stevie November 27, 2010 @ 7:39 amHe used one bass drum, but probably had it set up with two kick pedals. A lot of drummers do that, and judging by the size of his drumset, I’m pretty sure they just didn’t want to cart his whole giant set out to Kuwait and Iraq.
Comment by Drew November 27, 2010 @ 12:51 pmI’m so proud of them for doing this, and so proud to call myself a fan of such a selfless group of guys. <3
Comment by Rachel November 27, 2010 @ 8:35 amThis makes me so proud of being in the A7X Family. Awesome video!! =D

Comment by Joel Paz November 27, 2010 @ 10:14 amSo proud of our guys. The crowd really seems to love them. The guys seem into it to. I wonder if they got to hang out with any of the men. I hope the place was packed and crazy for A7X. They have wanted to do this for a long time. This video is awesome. I love the guy filming. He mades me want to scream along at home!!
Comment by Nikki V November 27, 2010 @ 10:16 amGlad Avenged got the chance to play for the troops. Seems everybody had a chance to be “normal” even if just for a little while.

Comment by Michelle November 27, 2010 @ 10:21 pmlol’d at syn hoppin on critical acclaim
Comment by Anonymous November 28, 2010 @ 5:48 amThat was incredible. So glad the guys got to do this, seeing that it’s been something they have wanted to do for so long!
These men and women they were playing for give up so much for all of us and we owe them so much. It was wonderful to see them having a few moments of “normalcy” in their lives. (Well I myself consider A7X blasting around me normal….)
Comment by A7XForTheWicked November 28, 2010 @ 8:50 amok for everyone criticizing the performance, understand the the camera does not pick up alot of things, and every time it moves you get certain speakers or sounds, there was double bass and matts scream was the same as always in critical acclaim.
Comment by chris November 28, 2010 @ 2:09 pmI was there and it was amazing to see and even better that we got to meet them after the show killer show
