There are some amazing tributes to fallen musicians in this issue and since I just got mine earlier today thanks to the wonderful people at Revolver Magazine I thought I would give you guys a little preview of what you’ll be able to read once you pick up yours on newsstands tomorrow (today if you’re reading this on the 21st!) or in the Revolver Online Store right now!
M Shadows sat down with Revolver’s Brandon Geist & Kory Grow for a great story and interview that led to interesting, funny and bone-chilling insight on such songs as “A Little Piece Of Heaven,” “Almost Easy,” “Afterlife,” “Welcome To The Family,” “Save Me,” and “Fiction.” You’ll also find out where “Nightmare” placed on Revolver’s 20 Best Albums Of ’10 list and what M Shadows thinks about the spot they clinched. Oh, he may also hint a little about the future of the band and it goes something like, “We know we’re…” – Did you guys really think I was going to continue? Yeah right! Pick up the issue out tomorrow and find out how the rest goes.

It’s just my personal beliefs, but I don’t see the value in buying magazines that I will probably only read a few times. Then it will just lay around never to be touched. And it’s not like a book so I can’t sell it. *sigh* Hopefully a library nearby will have it.
Comment by Mike December 20, 2010 @ 6:10 pmBelieve me, it’s understandable. But, out of compliance with Revolver I don’t post scans of their articles. It really is a great issue to have and to hold onto as well. I would highly recommend purchasing it if you’ve got the funds and your mind changes :)

Because I’ve bought one or two Rolling Stone mags because they were a nice quality special edition version. Like a recent Beatles one; it was well-written, felt nice, and looked like a book.
I may reconsider…
Too pricey for a magazine. Especially since it’s just words that will be online in a matter of days. Music is different; nice CD, case, liner notes, etc.
Comment by Mike December 20, 2010 @ 6:14 pmI wouldn’t say it’s special edition but it is a special issue. At Barnes & Noble when you purchase the issue you get a limited edition Dimebag coin and in every issue there’s a two page fold-out poster of the cover which is really nice.
As far as prices are concerned – the issue itself is only $6.99 if you find it at a Borders, Walmart, etc. without the coin.

But really, we’ll just see. Depends on what I can find on the web over next week or so.

I’m sure you enjoy knowing what is going on with your favorite bands, and it is magazines like this one that make it possible for interviews to be held, and information to be spread. You enjoy hearing the news, so show some support.

On a side note, my friends think I’m wierd that my favorite bands are basically the 6 corners of rock (Beatles, Metallica, A7X, Nirvana, Hendrix, Van Halen) :D

I’ve seen it in Rite Aid’s around where I live but I’m not sure about all of them! Call up local stores around you that supply major magazines and ask around.

Like DBN mentioned, it gives a little insight on the origins of some songs and a little insight on the future of the band, Plus, I picked it up from Barnes and Nobles so I got that Dimebag coin too!!

Comment by deathbatnews December 21, 2010 @ 4:03 pmMy sister bought it for me as an early Christmas present cuz my mom told her how much it really meant to me <3 that magazine in its entirety is very moving and sad i wanted to cry barely looking at the cover and much more when i read the articles of all our "Fallen Heroes" ESPECIALLY Jimmy T.T its a beautiful magazine and i encourage everyone gets their hands on it cuz i think its a piece worth keeping as memorabilia which i am collecting about a7x and jimmy. ALSO it has good info about the songs DBN listed above that Jimmy wrote. it goes into slightly more depth than the Avenged Sevenfold Self Titled Making Of The Album. i love to read new information of the band i'll never get enough info about Jimmy, im sure you guys do as well :]

I just got my copy today!! It was worth every penny. I have not read all of it yet, but I did read the part about Jimmy and it was great. The poster that comes with the magazine is awesome too. So if you have yet to get yourself a copy, go get one now because it is so worth it. I suggest getting it from Barnes and Noble because if you do, you get the Dimebag coin for free. I got one and I must say it is pretty damn cool. XD
