Towards the end of last month I told you guys that Deathbat News and Chris Epting had something special up our sleeves and now all can be revealed:
Over the course of the last few weeks I took fan submissions that consisted of a few sentences in memory of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan for The Sullivan family. I was astonished by the response - your thoughtful words came in from all over the world! Those that were picked for the article (which you can find below) will be printed in the Dec 23rd issue of The Huntington Beach Independent where The Sullivan’s will have some of your chosen words right at their fingertips. The surprise to you fans who sent submissions in is that absolutely every one I received is currently being made into a memory book and will be handed over to The Sullivan’s on Dec 23rd courtesy of Chris Epting. On Dec 28th all submissions received will also be posted right here on Deathbat News.

Katie Sullivan was gracious enough to send in some photos of Jimmy and the family together and you can check out a few of those here. Photos will be included in the print edition of The Huntington Beach Independent as well.

Words fail really. I just had found A7X 6 months or so ago. I was very depressed through my own personal losses, was starting to isolate myself..saw A7X one day on Fuse and was totally hooked..I could not get over how talented everyone of the guys were and especially Jimmy on the drums was amazing to me. So I looked them up online and stayed on you tube for days watching their videos and outtakes and it was devestating to find out that this person who was making me smile again had passed away. I love everything about him, how he played the drums, how he was so good to his friends and family and not afraid to show his love for them. It is obvious that he was a unique person, creative, intelligent, very handsome and his sense of humor was awesome. To Jimmy’s family, friends and Matt, Brian, Zacky & Johnny, may God bless you and comfort you always. God promises us eternity so it is not goodbye but see you again soon. Lots of love! Kristi

I asked him if that was the same man who sung the verses, but he said it was Jimmy, and that he had passed away.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you, Chris and DBN Lady, for everything you have done over this past year. And of course, to all of you, the fans – we stayed strong through this and that deserves a thank you in it’s self.
I wish the Sullivans a Merry Christmas, they truly deserve it. Even though it will be a different Christmas, we must continue celebrate to Jimmy’s life and music throughout this time.
Jimmy wasn’t just a drummer, he was and will always beyond amazing. A hero. An inspiration to us all. I cannot believe the day is approaching already, but I will be smiling up to him – knowing that he is smiling back to us all. As long as we treasure his memory he will live on foREVer.
