Yakima, WA’s KNDO reports that the Toyota Center may hit a record tonight in Kennewick with Avenged Sevenfold’s “Nightmare After Christmas” tour coming to town.

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Toyota Center may hit a record Saturday night. 6,800 people are getting ready for the heavy metal group Avenged Sevenfold.

The Three Rivers Convention Center Executive Director says this will be their biggest event yet.

Fans say they couldn’t sleep, because they were excited. They started lining up around 3:00am. Some even made their own clothing in support of the band.

UPDATE: M Shadows announced during the show that they officially broke the record for largest attendance for any event held at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA.

Thanks Jason for sending the update in.

Who is “their,” exactly? The venue or the band?

Comment by Mike

What do you mean?

Comment by deathbatnews

The update up there cleared it up for me; I didn’t know if the band was going to set a record as their biggest show ever so far, or the venue was going to set a record as it’s largest show hosted.

Damn, dude! And I thought 6 am was crazy! Only us A7X fans, though! More power to ‘em :)

I read “hit record” and thought they were recording something… but that wouldn’t make sense, considering it’s Arin’s first tour and they aren’t as tight as can be yet for any sort of live recordings

Comment by Tommy

based on the shows in Huntington and Knoxville, they ARE tight enough to make a live recording from this tour. Might be a way to get the newbie some royalties before he even goes into the studio too. *wishful thinking*

Comment by Jamie

3am? Intense! At the Palace, they wouldn’t let anyone park before 4pm. xD

Wow! I hope it’s warmer there than it was in Nebraska! Just for their limbs sake!!

It was a record. And an amazing concert. New Medicine was great, Hollywood Undead exceeded my low expectations and put on a good show. Corey Taylor never missed a note and Stone Sour put on A very high energy, excellent show.

But holy fuck! A7X was spectacular in every way.

The band never missed a beat. Not even Arin. He did a bit of his own stuff at the end of buried alive, not exactly like Portnoy, but very much in the style of Rev. I was very impressed with his precision for every song. And Gates! What can I say? He is the master. He hit every note on every solo. I was up close for Afterlife, and I was left in complete awe. Savoy and Johny were also very, very good on the night. Lots of interaction from all of them, and a nice hug from Zacky to Arin at the end of the show. Looked very much like he was part of the family.

Shadows is an amazing front man. He had us all at the first scream of “nightmare”. he also never missed a note the whole night. Said the Kennewick crowd was the highest energy crowd on the tour. Seemed to me like the crowd was just starved for heavy metal, and how lucky were we all to have A7X feed the passion.

I am generally pissed off. I should have been at that show. It would have been my first Avenged Sevenfold concert. To many details to go through. I don’t want to put on the website. I am glad A7x rock the shit out of Washington. LOL Only two hours and 30 minutes is were Avenged Sevenfold is from me. :D

You can remove this if you want but I wanna throw it out There if the chance the person responsible sees it. I bought Tue button portrait and had it tucked under my chair and someone stole it so you know What if you read this post F YOU!!!. I mean it was only 10 bucks at the souvenir stand if you dont have a measley 10 bucks I feel sorry for you. Maybe spend less on beer next time. Other than that amazing show from the guys ad always. And deathbat sorry about the off topic rant had to get it off my chest ya know.

Hey Jason – I wasn’t there but I just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone – I was at the Reading show and someone stole my hoodie off the seat DURING THE CONCERT (so it must have been the people behind me). I’m pretty sure they were “mad” me because I stood for the whole show, but so was everyone in front of and next to me. The 4 people behind me were sitting! Someone tapped me on the shoulder midway through the show and when I turned around they were all sitting and giving me dirty looks. I just turned back around and enjoyed the rest of the concert. They left during the ENCORE (wtf, who does that?) and when the show was over I went to pick up the hoodie and it was gone. Anyway, now I’VE rambled, but unfortunately my point is, some people are just @ssholes. Sorry your merch got stolen. :(

Comment by Tracey

Thanks alot. I mean it was only the button portrait 10 bucks I would feel worse if a hoodie got ripped off. People have no respect anymore. The Band would not appreciate members of the ‘family’ stealing from each other. Those people will not ever get the chance to party with the rev someday

Comment by Jeremy

I’m so sorry – I called you Jason instead of Jeremy! (I think it was because Jason sent the main story in.) Anyway, I totally agree with you – the band would NOT appreciate that kind of behavior! In my opinion, those types of people are not true fans – who goes to a show and steals from a fellow fan? Just wrong. Definitely not partying with The Rev one day for sure! ;)

Comment by Tracey

Lol no worries I knew who u was talking to

Comment by Jeremy

…And that is how the A7X family does it <3

DBN, is there any way to find out the attendance of the other shows? I’m curious to know just how many people were at the lowell show.

Comment by otis

Flew to washington from california for that show and it was epic! Best time I have had since the City of Evil tour. Met Syn, Johnny and Arin after the show and they were just hilarious. Can’t wait to see them again. They put a show on like no other!

Comment by Carmen

HA! I was there at 7am.
There is a video on KNDU’s website and you can see me in it.
Best Show EVER.
