In their most recent “Battle Of The Fans” poll Fuse TV are asking “Which Band Writes The Most Meaningful Lyrics?” Avenged Sevenfold are up against Linkin Park in Round 1 which ends on August 23rd at 6pm ET.

But now I’m so sad ’cause was promoting this poll in my personal account on facebook and he got me doing spamming. Now I can not even post and comment on other pages for 15 days. How do I live?

Both have written songs that are very meaningful, but I have to vote for Linkin Park in this one. I think that personal experiences in life will help people pick between these 2 amazing bands.

They have done the opposite of selling out. They simply make music that sounds good to them. They would sell millions more of their albums if they went back to their old sound, but they wont because they don’t like how it sounds anymore. Their first album went diamond. They would have sold out if they continued making the same sounding music. Please have some sort of facts before you accuse a band of selling out. /end rant
Comment by Bob August 14, 2011 @ 8:18 amAgree with bob. And if you look at the lyrics, LPs first 2 albums were pretty generic. On Minuted to Midnight and especially on a Thousand Suns they Stepped their lyrical game up miles.

But I’d go with A7X, not only coz it’s my number 1 favorite band but coz the lyrics of the Nightmare-album has been very meaningful to me. But this is exactly why I hate these polls.

Comment by Linds August 14, 2011 @ 8:56 amI like linkin park and yeah, I’m sure their lyrics are meaningful, but it’s nothing compared to avenged… Especially in their last album. Everyone who knows avenged knows just how meaningful the lyrics are in nightmare.
Sevenfold is as meaningful as it gets lyric wise lately. LP is good but from a lyrical content standpoint I can see through their lyrics. Shads’ voice is just so freaking intense to can’t help but feel what he is singing.

Comment by Cal August 14, 2011 @ 11:45 amThose songs all have great meanings behind them. There’s no disputing that. But A7X also write songs like A Little Piece of Heaven, Bat Country, Scream. All great songs but they don’t exactly have the best meanings lol. Where as with Linkin Park I can’t think of a single song of theirs that doesn’t have a deep meaning behind it.

Comment by A7xfan August 14, 2011 @ 11:45 amTen years ago I would’ve voted Linkin Park, but now, to me at least, they’ve wandered away from meaningful and gone more for catchy. Avenged Sevenfold has found a hybrid of the two without sacrificing meaning for catchy and not going so poppy they lose the heartfelt stuff. :)

Comment by Nolan August 14, 2011 @ 2:14 pmWell, considering even some of A7X’s heavier songs are extremely meaningful (Some examples would be Lost as it talks about the impacts and pointlessness of war, Second Heartbeat is about friendship, and I Won’t See You Tonight Pt 2 since it discusses suicide, and there’s others, too) i’d pick A7X over LP.
LP do have some pretty meaningful songs though.

I think I’m gonna side with Sevenfold though, just because I love all of Sevenfolds lyrics but I don’t really feel LP’s lyrics these days. They are still good, but they aren’t the same.
