Avenged Sevenfold are featured on the AOL homepage today with their About.Me profile. The profile features information on the $25 Party Pass For 25 Hours as well as this written piece:

“We are Avenged Sevenfold, an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California. We formed in 1999, with vocalist M. Shadows, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and our dear friend Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan.

Our most recent album Nightmares has marked the begining of a new era for us as a band. We are hitting the road and doing what we love, and at the same time continuing the legacy of “The Rev.” You may have seen us in the past at shows or festivals, but you’ve never seen us like this!

Come check us out this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Festival UPROAR Festival at a city near you and see for yourself!”

UPDATE: Zacky Vengeance has sent in a message reiterating that this piece was not written by the band.

UPDATE #2: The About.ME page has been removed.

yay!!!!!!!! I’m hoping for a new set list and a new stage set-up. don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the whole grave yard scene, but I’ve seen it several times now; I’m ready for something new from them. super excited for the Tampa show now =)

it’s true, i first saw them live in 2008 when jimmy was around and it was a really good show but i saw them live 2 weeks ago and omg they were fucking amazing! the best show i have ever been to in my life… i just hope they come back to Australia soon like they promised

Comment by brooke

aka: “We know half of America has seen us on our relentless year long touring cycle but we swear it’s not the same show again! Honest!”

Sounds good to me….

Comment by Ultan

They’re going to dominate the world……..more so than ever….

Yeah can’t really beat the hanging man unless you make the harness a little less visible and the rope a little tighter lol…I hope they play save me…they can’t just be playing ten songs..I hope they play something old

that awkward moment when Zacky tweets you and say it’s not true…

Comment by Anonymous

Why would it be awkward? If anything I appreciate him clearing that up. It’s posted as if it were written by the band therefore making it a quotable piece.

Comment by deathbatnews

That awkward moment when anon doesn’t realize Zack actually had DBN’s back letting them know that something that looked legit from a trusted source such as AOL, was indeed fake.

Comment by Kristen

…and this blog post to disappear in three… two…

To be fair, I’m sure they know the name of their current album.

Comment by Ultan

Haha, nightmares? lol

Comment by PKPistol

Thanks for the update DBN! And of course thanks to Zacky for clearing that up. :)

Comment by JaCaria

I love how I refresh twitter and saw Zacky reply to you and then you replied back and updated it….it was like “whoa”

Comment by Caulin

I kind of find it hilarious he tweeted about that. I’m not sure why.

Comment by Jessica

I wonder how many people are going to think he’s dissing you by responding? All he was doing was letting you know they didn’t write that which I think shows the respect he has for DBN.

Comment by Cal

I never once saw it as a diss. Zacky obviously has high enough regards for DBN to respond. So I agree, it shows much respect (and very well deserved, in my opinion)! :D

Comment by Rachel

Way to get everyone excited AOL….>.>

Comment by Alyssa

Comment by Anonymous

Comment by Alicia S.

i really wish i could go..but due to lack of money no can do :( :(

Comment by amy

You know, when I was first reading it I was kind of thinking to myself it didn’t really sound like them.. Especially the beginning, it’s like a bio in first person haha. But that’s cool zacky set it straight, also let’s you know they still check the site (or twitter) regularly.

Comment by Linds

*third person ;)

Comment by Angst

Don’t wanna argue about grammar but it actually is first person. Third person is “he, she, they” like a normal bio would be. This post is first person because it’s “we, our (or I).” Soo yeah, just saying… Haha

Comment by Linds

Obv some little twat doing the let’s pretend thing

Comment by sarra

When I first saw this post, I only glanced at the about.me page and focused more on the “You may have seen us in the past at shows or festivals, but you’ve never seen us like this!” part. Reading it now, it doesn’t sound like something the guys or anyone in their camp would write.

Comment by JaCaria

SInce Zacky “cleared up” things, I think that this article can be deleted now. It really makes the band look dumb. Come on – “Nightmares”. Really? Get rid of this. Please.

Comment by Christine Dawson (@christinerawr7)

It, in no way, makes the band look dumb. If anything it makes whoever wrote it as well as AOL look dumb, especially since it was removed. It wouldn’t make sense to delete the initial post and keep up a message from a band member regarding the situation. It’s not being deleted
