Altsounds: “Hail To The King” Is Classic Metal With Avenged Sevenfold’s Own Stamp.

Alex Easton of Altsounds wrote a rave review of Avenged Sevenfold’s album “Hail To The King” giving it a 94% rating saying, “['Hail To The King'] is classic metal” with “Avenged Sevenfold’s own stamp on it which will catapult them to that elite club of defining metal bands. In ten, twenty, or even thirty years time, bands will be looking to A7X as one of the bands alongside Iron Maiden and Metallica. And it’s thanks to Hail To The King. It’s got the songs, the technicality, and the pure musical passion. [...] Hail To The King is the one. This is the album that makes Avenged Sevenfold part of the thinning club of metal legends. The metal band of a generation have taken their throne. And they’re not going anywhere now.

Me too. This album is forgettable

Good review, awful writing. It’s sad when professionals like this not only get the band’s moniker wrong (AX7? Really?), but write a review riddled with spelling and grammatical errors.

Nice, I hope the reviewers sentiments/predictions? are correct, but I suppose we will only find out in due time.

I love the album, I think it’s their strongest yet. I was disappointed with their self titled, but felt they moved back in the right direction with Nightmare in terms of quality but still felt it hadn’t surpassed City of Evil, or even waking the fallen for that matter (though those 3 albums are very close, as in I don’t like one soooo much over the other one, but there is a little space in between them in terms of how much I enjoy them).

It’s great to say that City of Evil has finally been dethroned as my favorite a7x album, HTTK now fittingly sits on top.

side note: Requiem is probably my favorite track, so I strongly disagree with the reviewer in that regard

I’m liking the review although I do disagree with it about Requiem, especially given the description of Requiem which imo would have to also be applied to Planets. But nevertheless this is yet another very positive review of the album. As polarising as this album is to the public the magazines, websites etc. are all taking to it like a duck to water. It’s pleasing not only because a band I really like is getting praise for their hard work but also because I know the ‘haters’ will be blowing themselves up over it :P
