The Loudwire staff have picked their Top 50 Hard Rock Songs Of The 21st Century and Avenged Sevenfold made the list at #20 with “Bat Country.”

“We can’t stop here. This is bat country!” With those classic words from Hunter S. Thompson, Avenged Sevenfold took inspiration from ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and turned it into one of their most notable songs.

As the second single from their 2005 album, ‘City of Evil,’ this track helped bring mainstream attention to the hard rock band. With the help of ‘Bat Country,’ Avenged’s third album went platinum in the U.S.

After going though the whole list.. I have to sum it up for the ones that intends to:
Crap!

45/50 of the songs there are not even Hard Rock, most of them not even Rock at all!
I actually like most of the songs there, but the list itself is not a ‘Hard Rock’ list at all.

And one more thing of course.. Bat Country should of been at a way more better place than 20#.
