It goes without saying, really, but Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan’s presence was sorely missed last night. M. Shadows actually revealed to the crowd that Jimmy’s Mum phoned him before the show to tell him to “Go and kill it – that’s what Jimmy would want”. Shadows then preceded to dedicate an emotional So Far Away to his fallen bandmate… Truly beautiful stuff.4. Hail To The King is completely killer live…

“Waaaaah, Avenged Sevenfold aren’t good enough to headline Download! WAAAAAH!” Some of you moaned when it was announced that the Huntingdon Beach metallers would be topping the bill this year. But M. Shadows and the gang totally owned headline status, and there’s no doubt that they’ll be headlining rock and metal festivals for years to come. SO THERE.
