NME have put up a poll to find out what you guys think are the “Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time” and Avenged Sevenfold are in the running to grab the #1 spot. You can head here to rate “City Of Evil” and here to rate “Waking The Fallen.”

Comment by deathbatnews April 8, 2011 @ 3:15 pmhell ya waking the fallen was the best metalcore album ever made i do wish they woulda stayed in that genre though they never woulda got into the country thing which is my only hang up about a7x granted they only did 1 country song but matt still uses that vocal style for the softer stuff which in my opinion hurts them because when i let ppl listen to my a7x stuff those are always the parts that turn them off

A7X used to be metalcore. So that’s not a good argument for anyone here. I don’t like BMTH but I respect them. They don’t deserve number 1, but neither does A7X against Metallica and Iron Maiden.

City of Evil is a good album, but in no way should it compare to the Master of Puppets and Number of the Beasts of the world, when we are talking about best metal albums of ALL time. I’m a big A7X fan, but in no way should they win best metal album of all time. Yet. Hopefully they will make the best album of all time in the future though! :)

No its called being realistic. A7Xs albums have in no way impacted the world the way master of puppets has or metallica has for that matter. avenged is my favorite band but if i were to have to vote for the greatest band of all time it would hands down be Led Zeppelin.
FYI City of Evil is definitely better than Waking the Fallen. City of Evil is one of the best guitar albums of this century.

Comment by steven kraatz April 12, 2011 @ 3:22 pmThis is the most laughable metal poll ever….I’m an a7x fan and all but let’s be honest with ourselves here, COE and WTF don’t belong in the top ten, even top 20 best metal albums of all time…I know all the kids are going to go crazy and say oh but they’re the best you’re dumb blah blah blah but really, you want to hear metal go pick up Reign in Blood by Slayer, or Rust in Peace by Megadeth, or Ride the Lightning by Metallica, or how about Years of Decay by Overkill or Bonded by Blood by Exodus….there I gave you five already that are better then anything that’s in the top 10
